Former Ambassador Daniel Mulhall discusses Trump, tourism and Ireland’s soft power

Daniel Mulhall was one of Ireland’s top diplomats for 4 decades and served as Irish Ambassador in the US, Britain and Germany among other postings. He has been at the front line for Ireland during fascinating times including President Trump’s first term and the Brexit vote in the UK.

The Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) caught up with Dan to discuss the unprecedented global political and economic times we live in and their likely impact on Ireland.

In a wide-ranging interview Dan refers to his experience of President Trump, his knowledge of Britain and Europe, and also stresses that Ireland’s soft power through culture and heritage is vital to maintain.
